• Sidekick Irene Becks’ work was shown simultaneously at G101 and SAW Gallery. To be curated by two artist run centres was an unprecedented thing for H’Art of Ottawa. Her lunch bags were kept by H’Art Studio Executive Director Lin Rowsell. This collection became an installation at Gallery 101 titled Sidekick. This work was one of the most popular works as far as curators are concerned; do we love obsession, truth, dedication, rawness, irony? How did we all decide this was art on behalf of Irene? Does it matter? Irene is so full of joy, love, and pride with her accomplishments as an artist.
