Caro Caron feeds her needs for odds and ends daily; it’s a sort of chronic illness. She is a hunter/gatherer of what she considers primary materials: wood, metal, fur, feathers, plastic flowers, thingamajigs, doohickeys, and whatdoyoucallits... These curiosities that adorn many of her works, are transformed into sweet ‘n’ sour allegories of her universe, her “mug”, her monsters, her questions, her fantasies, under garish colours and luridly exaggerated debased figures that reflect a humorously misanthropic worldview. Illustrator, painter and cartoonist, Caro has been a “body painter” and a professional make-up artist for the past 20 years. Published notably in the “Cyclops” anthologies, King Can Comix, Aways Dzigidzine, Mr. Ferraille and Hôpital Brut (Dernier Cri.)
