Duane Linklater is from Moose Factory, Ontario and is Omuskego Cree. He has completed a B.A. (Native Studies) a Bachelor’s of Fine Art and was a Master’s of Fine Arts Candidate in Painting at the University of Alberta. He works primarily in painting, but also works in other media including music, film and video. His influences are varied, Chris Ofili, James Luna, Francisco Goya to powwow singing and hip-hop; the diversity of artists and genres inspire him to compose work and to move forward. He currently lives in Edmonton, Alberta.
