Heather Nicol was born and raised in Ottawa. She moved to New York City to study art, where she received a BFA (Honours) from the School of Visual Art, and an MA from New York University. Her work has been exhibited in the United States, Canada and Europe. Selected solo exhibitions and installation venues include Art Resources Transfer (NY), Brooklyn Academy of Music, the Sculpture Center at Roosevelt Island (NY), YYZ Artists Outlet (Toronto), Saw Gallery (Ottawa), Galerie Samuel Lallouz (Montreal), Galerie Maria Bonk (Cologne), Kunstlerhaus Betanien (Berlin), and Chateau de Courances (France). Heather Nicol is also an independant curator. Her recent project "What’s the Use?"was exhibited at the University of Michigan’s Jean Paul Slusser Gallery (Ann Arbor).
