I was born in Northern Alberta in Buffalo Lake Métis Settlement, near Lac La Biche. In 1999 I moved to Edmonton to go to university. As a student, I was offered a summer job at APTN, for which I moved to Anishinaabe Territory (Ottawa, ON), where I felt safe and decided to stay. I continue to practice and promote my indigenous heritage through art and dance, and work as a consultant on issues that affect Indigenous women, the arts, youth and entrepreneurs. Through my company, called Indigenous Walks, participants learn about the social, political and cultural issues through landscape, monuments and architecture from an Indigenous perspective.
