The Kid From Caboolture, 2014 • Dream Idol, 2014
I love anything to do with Australia. I love to jump. I jumped to life when I was eighteen years old. I became the worlds’ greatest fan of Keith Urban. He means a whole lot to me. My dad introduced me to Keith when I was watching Oprah and Ellen Degeneres. They both went to Australia. Australia means a whole lot to me. Keith Urban is in the bottom of my heart. I saw so many pictures and videos of Australia. It is still on my bucket list, like I really want to go so bad. Home means a whole lot to me. I have been at home for over 25 years. I’m getting older. I really want to be free. I’m learning how to be more independent. I want to become more alive, open my wings and fly. I want to learn to love myself. It’s kind of hard. I want to be myself again. I’m an adult, just to be myself growing big dreams, big love, learn, fun.
Caboolture is the place in Australia where Keith Urban comes from. His song, Days Go By was Julie’s inspiration for this painting. The song tells us not to rush through life, reminding us to slow down and really see and appreciate the things in our lives. Julie is certainly paying attention to detail in her work. There are three different types of grass, which are being tuned into the world around you! In this picture, you can see a grey kangaroo, a brown koala, and a red kookaburra. Dream idol is like happy and joyful wrapping paper, sparkly dream of being on the show.
