Space is limited so book your ticket now! About Rose Moses "I am Ojibwe First Nations from the Parry Sound area and discovered sewing very young. I was hooked as soon as my mother showed me how to thread a needle and began sewing scraps of materials together for clothing for my dolls. Later, when I was in my early twenties, I was living in Regina, Saskatchewan and found a little gift shop selling a Native puppet. As never having anything native in my life- I immediately bought it and brought it home. I was intrigued... I loved the puppet but was not happy with how it was made and began to wonder if I could do a better job and began to take it apart and taught myself how to make a simple native puppet. I fashioned my creations after the "No Face Doll" after I read an article about them in the Toronto Star and still have the original news clipping. Today, I still make the No Face Doll because I am attracted to the story and the legends that go with the No Face. I have been making No Face Dolls now for over 20 years and have been lucky enough to witness the effects of dollmaking and of the dolls themselves. As with any artistic process, there is an inner journey that is taken while engaging in the art process. I welcome those who wish to take that inner journey with me." Meegwetch Rose.
