is a visual artist working in a variety of mediums, defined by post-consumed materials, in conjunction with metaphysical and environmental principles. His practice tends to manifest as monumental sculptures and intricate installations. Born in Regina, Saskatchewan in 1981, Baker grew up with an interest in sculpture and drawing, of which he studied at the University of Regina, graduating with honours in 2004 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in sculpture. After graduation, he worked as a contractor, collecting wasted materials in abundance, which have since been incorporated into his practice. Baker has exhibited and lectured widely across Western Canada and Quebec participating in an array of group and solo exhibitions. His sculptures are in the collection of the Centre d’Art de Baie-Saint Paul in Baie-Saint-Paul, Quebec, and the Dunlop Art Gallery in Regina, Saskatchewan. Baker currently lives and works in Montreal, QC and Estevan, SK while completing his Master of Fine Arts degree at Concordia University.
