Linda Carreiro is pursuing cross-disciplinary research in art and anatomy. Her creative research has culminated in recent solo exhibitions across Canada, including Gallery 1C03 at the University of Winnipeg, 2004; TRUCK Contemporary Art (Calgary) 2001; The Art Gallery of Southwestern Manitoba (Brandon) 2001; with upcoming shows in 2005, at the Nickle Arts Museum (Calgary), Modern Fuel (Kingston) and SNAP Gallery (Edmonton). Her works have also been included in group exhibitions throughout Canada and in the United States, including: Quintessence, The Nanaimo Art Gallery, 2004; Against Tradition: Contemporary Trends in Printmaking, Indiana State University, 2004; Writes of Passage, The Heuser Art Center, 2004. Awards include: Manitoba Arts Council and Alberta Foundation for the Arts project grants, major scholarships from the University of Alberta and research grants from the University of Calgary. Currently, she is Assistant Professor at the University of Calgary.
