    Time:
    14:00 - 16:00

Join Le Dernier des Touristes artists Laurena and Sarah-Mecca on Saturday July 16th, 2-4 PM for a free paint and collage workshop exploring the oppositional gaze.

The workshop will take place in-person at Gallery 101, and online via Zoom. Materials will be provided for in-person participants, and those joining online are asked to use what's available at home, or to create digitally. In preparation for the workshop the artists ask participants to collect print outs, magazine clippings, and/or photocopies of family photos as source material to personalize their works. Specifically, Laurena and Sarah-Mecca ask participants to bring images of 4-5 touristic spaces from their home country/ies with visible tourists in the landscape (eg. resorts, beaches, hotels, photos from travel-blogs etc.).

If you need access to a printer and are participating in person, please e-mail your photos to office@g101.ca, subject: Workshop print outs

Additional source material ideas: Small objects, landscapes, flora, fauna, archival photos etc that have meaning to you in relation to your home country/ies

In-person Spaces are limited - Register on Eventbrite
Online participants - Register on Zoom
